Rabbit's Smell ~ Written By: Amanda's Bunny Galaxy
A Rabbit's Sense of SmellA rabbit has 100 million scent glands and their sense of smell is much more developed than a human's. Since they can smell so well certain scents may bother them. For example, we have had rabbits in the house while we were cooking with hot sauce. The rabbits got scared and hid. They use scent to detect their humans, and other rabbits. Rabbits have scent glands underneath their chin which their mark things with, including you which means whatever they mark belongs to them. You can't smell it, and it won't harm you, so there is no reason to not let them do this. A rabbit can recognize you by the way you smell.
